PU stone panel is a simulated stone wall cladding formed from polyurethane, widely used for interior feature walls, themed walls and shaped surfaces in hotels and commercial spaces. It is also known as PU culture stone, PU stone skin, faux stone wall panel, polyurethane stone panel and lightweight stone-look cladding.

The material is polyurethane at 100% and contains no formaldehyde. Foaming produces a dense yet very light board, and the mould presses the stone texture, crack lines and broken edges into the surface in one pass. The relief comes from the thickness variation of the board itself rather than a printed film, so raking light reveals genuine peaks and shadows, which is why it performs so well on feature and shaped walls.

The range is organised by texture. The stone skin series recreates the layered bedding and fractured faces of split natural stone; the mushroom stone series uses raised block faces for strong light-and-shadow rhythm, running from thin versions to over ten centimetres so the wall gains depth with thickness; culture brick and small culture brick work at brick scale for vintage and industrial looks; the slab series covers flat grain, raised grain, mountain rock, striped and continuous grain in larger formats, so whole walls need fewer joints and the pattern reads more continuously; and further designs include cement board, travertine mosaic, wood grain grid, old ship timber, charcoal-fired wood, water cube and nine-square grid, which can be combined into different wall languages. Selected designs are available with a matte finish for lower sheen and a more restrained feel.

The specification range runs from thin to heavy: thickness from 16mm to 150mm, with a standard 600mm width and 1200mm length, plus large formats of 750×1500mm, 800×2400mm, 600×2400mm, 600×2900mm and 1200×2900mm, and narrower or smaller sizes of 300×1140mm, 300×1160mm, 460×1070mm, 580×1200mm and 200×900mm, selected according to wall scale and laying pattern. External and internal corner pieces at 200×1200mm close the corners so two flat panels never meet with an open joint or broken pattern.

Weight is the most immediate advantage: a standard 600×1200mm panel weighs about 1.5kg to 2.5kg, the thinnest 16mm board only 1.55kg and even a 50mm board just over 2kg, while large formats range from 4.5kg to 13.5kg per panel. That lightness means no steel sub-frame or batten system is needed for wall mounting, two people can handle and position the panels, and high-rise projects and wall renovations need no extra structural load calculation.

Installation uses construction adhesive applied directly: the wall must be flat, dry and clean, the layout is marked out, adhesive is applied to the back of the panel and pressed into place, with nails holding it until the adhesive cures. Panels can be cut to size on site with a knife, and corners, openings and edges are shaped directly. The required accessories are construction adhesive, a knife and nails, so there is little work and no wet trade, and the programme is far shorter than dry-hung natural stone.

Panels are packed in cartons with 2 to 42 pieces per pack depending on thickness and format. Loading is about 26 to 193 pieces in a 20GP and 61 to 470 pieces in a 40HQ, with thin lightweight designs loading more per container for full-container shipments.
